Song of the Day: Wolf Larson - If I Be Wrong

What if I’m wrong, what if I’ve lied
What if I’ve dragged you here to my own dark night
And what if I know, what if I see
There is a crack run right down the front of me

What if they’re right, what if we’re wrong
What if I’ve lured you here with a siren song
But if I be wrong, if I be right
Let me be here with you tonight

Ten thousand cars, ten thousand trains
There are ten thousand roads to run away

But I am not lost, I am not found
I am not Dylan’s wife, not Cohen’s hound
But if I be wrong, if I be right
Let me be here with you tonight

And what if I can’t, what if I can
What if I’m just an ordinary man

If there is a will, there is a way
I will escape for sure, I am David Blane
But if I be wrong, if I be right
Let me be here with you

If I be wrong, if I be right
Let me stay here in your arms tonight
And I have been wrong, I have been right
I have been both these things all in the same night
So if I be wrong, if I be right
Let me be here with you tonight

Song of the Day: Matt Walters - I Would Die for You

He buried her heart still
He buried her on her own
By the cool ferns
In the rained on river bed

He took her in his arms
He carried her ghost
Through grey stone fields
He could feel her float

She said, “I would die for you
"I would die for you"
And it all came true
It all came true

A love so dark
Against that moon
With a silken cord
She spoke too soon

She said, “I would die for you
I would die for you”

When he first laid eyes
It was like a curse
He felt his heart rise
And gravity in reverse

Her eyes full of hope
Her voice full of mourning
And her lips as red
As a shepherds warning

She said, “I would die for you
"I would die for you"
And it all came true
It all came true

He lay her down
In the gentle earth
And kissed her eyes closed
Like it didn’t hurt

She said, “I would die for you
"I would die for you"
"I would die for you"
"I would die for you"

And it all came true
It all came true

Song of the Day: Basia Bulat - From Now On

Every year from now on
I will wait until all the leaves turn
Wait until they burn
Wait until I see my brother give me a look
That reminds me
If the truth can be told, I might go home
Could I offer to my son or
My daughter that day
Everything that I know?
What will I know?

And if I can still be honest
When the sun sets late
In the way it does at the end
Of the summertime
In the summertime
Summertime is a mess
For those of us who know it
October is closer
Than any one of us can admit

If every song from now on is about you
Every song, every song from now on
I can play on and on
I can play you on and on and on
And on until I am out of breath
If you are waiting at the rest
When my cadence grows impatient
Every summer’s end

Song of the Day: Long Story Short - Summer Nights

Summer nights we spent alone
City lights we called our home
And I’d give anything
I’d give it all away
Just to spend one more
Summer night with you

In my mind
I never really lost you
I couldn’t find a way
To stay another day

But in my mind
I never stopped to love you
I didn’t want to
Run away but I
I had to say goodbye

You hid the pain
Inside your eyes
Just trying to find something
You couldn’t hide behind

Now it’s time to make a move
Got nothing left to lose
Just to spend one more
Summer night with you

In my mind
I never really lost you
I couldn’t find a way
To stay another day

But in my mind
I never stopped to love you
I didn’t want to
Run away but I
I had to say goodbye

To the way that we were
To the way it was before
And it breaks my heart

In my mind
I never really lost you
I couldn’t find a way
To stay another day

But in my mind
I never stopped to love you
I didn’t want to
Run away but I
I had to say goodbye
I had to say goodbye

Song of the Day: Pearl Jam - Future Days

If I ever were to lose you
I’d surely lose myself
Everything I have found dear
I’ve not found by myself

Try and sometimes you’ll succeed to make this man of me
All my stolen missing parts I’ve no need for anymore

I believe and I believe ‘cause I can see
Our future days, days of you and me

Back when I was feeling broken
I focused on a prayer
You came deep as in the ocean

It’s something I can’t hear

All the complexities and games, no one wins but somehow they’re still played
All the missing crooked hearts, they may die but in us they live on

I believe and I believe ‘cause I can see
Our future days, days of you and me

When the hurricanes and cyclones rage
When winds turn dirt into dust
When floods they came and the tides they raised,
Ever closer became us

All the promises at sundown, I met them like the rest
All the demons used to come round I’m grateful now they’ve left

So persistent in my ways,
Angel I am here to stay

No resistance, no alarms
Please this is just too good to be gone

I believe and I believe ‘cause I can see
Our future days, days of you and me
You and me
Days of you and me

Song of the Day: Rachel Sermanni - Sleep (Ft. Mo Kenney)

Sleep baby sleep
I don’t mind if you leave;
We will part in our dreams, let them come.
I’ll give you my skin
But you can’t have within;
Hold me tight as you like.
I will leave you when the day is done.

Wake with the dawn
Discover needles in my neck.
Sleep it bade me turn my back on you.
I’ll watch your chest
As it rises with each breath
But you still breathe beneath a river
that I’ll never even wade through.

Give me your cup and
I’ll give you mine.
But I’ll prise it from your fingers
in surrender to the night.
The moon is bright
And hangs alone.
Yeah, he’s got the stars, but they’ve got their own
Solar systems.

And I watch as he wards off the dark.
With the gift that the sun gave him.
And I learn from the moon what we are;
All alone.
But alone in a sea of lonely stars.

So go baby glow.

Song of the Day: Lucinda Williams - Copenhagen

Thundering news hits me like a snowball
Striking my face and shattering
Covering me in a fine powdery mist
And mixing in with my tears

And I’m 57 but I could be 7 years old
'Cause I will never be able
To comprehend the expansiveness
Of what I’ve just learned

For you, I’ll disappear, you have been released
You are flecks of light, you are missed
Somewhere spinning ‘round the sun, circling the moon
Traveling through time, you are missed

Walking through unfamiliar streets
And shaking unfamiliar hands
And hearing unfamiliar laughs
And lovely languages I don’t understand

It’s late, I’m told, openhearted
The skies are gray, the snow has fallen
I can see my breath outside
I’m freezing the ocean waves with disbelief

That you have disappeared, you have been released
You are flecks of light, you are missed
Somewhere spinning around the sun, circling the moon
Traveling through time, you are missed

Song of the Day: Gerry & the Pacemakers - You’ll Never Walk Alone

When you walk through the storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There’s a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on, through the wind
Walk on, through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone

WHITE WITH RED
White with Red was an extremely popular short creepy story that has been turned into a short film.
This is the story:
A man went to a hotel and walked up to the front desk to check in. The woman at the desk gave him his key and told him that on the way to his room, there was a door with no number that was locked and no one was allowed in there. Especially no one should look inside the room, under any circumstances. So he followed the instructions of the woman at the front desk, going straight to his room, and going to bed.
The next night his curiosity would not leave him alone about the room with no number on the door. He walked down the hall to the door and tried the handle. Sure enough it was locked. He bent down and looked through the wide keyhole. Cold air passed through it, chilling his eye. What he saw was a hotel bedroom, like his, and in the corner was a woman whose skin was completely white. She was leaning her head against the wall, facing away from the door. He stared in confusion for a while. He almost knocked on the door, out of curiosity, but decided not to.
This disinclination saved his life. He crept away from the door and walked back to his room. The next day, he returned to the door and looked through the wide keyhole. This time, all he saw was redness. He couldn’t make anything out besides a distinct red color, unmoving. Perhaps the inhabitants of the room knew he was spying the night before, and had blocked the keyhole with something red.
At this point he decided to consult the woman at the front desk for more information. She sighed and said, “Did you look through the keyhole?” The man told her that he had and she said, “Well, I might as well tell you the story. A long time ago, a man murdered his wife in that room, and her ghost haunts it. But these people were not ordinary. They were white all over, except for their eyes, which were red.”

gee i wonder what went wrong

"Each day, we wake slightly altered, and the person we were yesterday is dead. So why, one could say, be afraid of death, when death comes all the time?"
— John Updike, Self-Consciousness (via larmoyante)
"I asked the poet Tony Hoagland what he thought about fear. He said fear was the ghost of an experience: we fear the recurrence of a pain we once felt, and in this way fear is like a hangover. The memory of our pain is a pain unto itself, and thus feeds our fear like a foyer with mirrors on both sides."
"Cause you never think that the last time is the last time. You think there will be more. You think you have forever, but you don’t."
